I strongly believe that software piracy does not kill innovation, furthermore it promote creativity, growth and advancement. How it promote creativity? for one seeing a sample of a software one might find it less technical to create a superior product or software. As it relate to growth by providing model software, it will encourage innovators to be more involved in the development of new ideas and will also influence others out there to become innovators themselves. In addition with the entire team of innovators out there presenting new ideas this will create a standard for innovation, so that better products and software can be produced.
According to Gillmor, D (2011) in his article "Stop Sopa now". America is fond of chiding other nations about freedom of speech in the internet age. Leaders including President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are constantly reminding their global counterparts, especially in places like China, that internet censorship is a detriment to open government and honest self-rule. Yet, the Obama administration has used tactics that smell of censorship, and Congress is making common cause with a corporate cartel that wants to turn the internet into little more than an enhanced form of cable television. In the name of protecting copyright holders, they would censor the internet and force entrepreneurs to get permission to innovate.

Innovation is the key, i strongly believe that software piracy in fact contribute the creation of better and newer ideas for software just by observation.
